I guess, among others
- Is the transfer well signed?
- Is it likely to be the same building? If not transfer airside/landside?
- Will I be re-clearing security?
- Will I need to collect and recheck my luggage? (having only had experience with recheck originating at NAS and YVR)

If not, you just follow the arrivals signs and then the US Pre-Clearance signs. Two hours should be plenty.
There are no useful concessions after pre-clearance and you cannot take food through so eat/plan appropriately.
I wound up checking a bag for...well...yeah, not my smartest move, probably should have shoved a change of clothes and toiletries in a backpack, but this is what happens when I panic
Thanks for the navigation advice and also the concessions advice -- I will make sure I scarf down before leaving EDI.
Thanks again!
