Canon SLRs and Swarovski binoculars in every room, WiFi and a fine wine collection are among its calling cards.
No aircon, however, so if you choose to go make sure it's in the Southern Winter, where the Masai Mara (with its 1500+ meter elevation) has evenings that are usually in the single digit temperatures. It will be right up your alley

Bolding mine. Sorry, but if there's no air con, I don't and can't qualify it as luxury. Suffering no air con during any potential and inevitable heat wave--even during an unusually warm day--is not my idea of a luxurious or even remotely good time.

But I wish you both a fabulous time!
Another option is Mahali Mzuri, which is also in the same private area of the Mara. It's associated with Richard Branson and the Virgin brand, and its style is modern - reminiscent of Singita Lebombo. And it has in-room aircon. The hard product is not to our personal tastes, but if you want top-shelf comfort, I have pretty good reason to believe that this lodge will deliver.
Thanks for the referral. You've stayed here or just heard/read about this Mahali Mzuri lodge? Anyone else have experience here?
Is that the only camp or lodge in Tanzania that qualifies as comparable to Singita Grumeti? Really?
