At the airport they were able to issue the boarding passes without incident and indeed we were checked in. If you want peace of mind you could phone to check all documentation is in order, or get to the airport a little earlier, but in all likelihood you are just suffering from a glitch.
Thanks tamalien that has given us some reassurance. I won't attempt to phone BA from here tonight, but I think we'll just head to YVR in time for the check-in desks to open on the evening of the 24th.
