On the subject of Luxair, I see that is now possible to see award availability if you do a normal award flight search at M&M. So, for example, on one date I when I would need to fly one way LUX-GVA, a revenue tkt would cost EUR356 (the cheapest version would be EUR299, but this is non refundable and non modifiable, whereas M&M awards can both be changed and refunded). This route is offered for 17,000 miles plus EUR3.87 tax for a one way, which seems to be a very good deal indeed. And it seems taxes are almost non existent es LUX, which is interesting to know.

Then I thought I would just try to search for a round trip award, combining it with a return to DUS, thus creating an open jaw at the point of origin. Hopefully I would manage to make a FlySmart award a bit nearer the time. No chance: Luxair awards cannot be combined with other airlines. So, it is still a bit restrictive, but at least the possibility to book LG online is now there.
