Do I need paper copy of award reservation?
Dear Marriott,
I am looking to stay next week in one of your hotels.
I have booked a stay using points.
The hotel is a category 1 hotel and I have booked 7 nights.
At the time of booking I believe that 45,000 points were deducted.
My receipt indicates that I would need to show an e-certificate to the hotel.
However the booking says that the e-certificate is sent to the hotel.
In order to understand this further, I read the fAQS on the Marriott site which provided no additional information.
I am concerned about turning up at the hotel and them demanding the e-certificate. I have seen in forums this happen before. Why can't Marriott just email or send me the voucher to use rather than the hotel. I am concerned the hotel will not have this e-certificate and it will cause a drama.
Because we are staying in a third-world location, my concern is that things will not be done properly.
