I've noticed similar - Smartone has issues on authenticating roaming users. Normally I have to fallback to 2G get a connection then set it to HSPA/3G. If I set it to LTE I lose network after a few mins. Something odd with how Smartone runs their network as I get this happening on a Japanese SIM also from my company.
