Time in level flight with little turbulence and better attention to safety vs. convenience.

Back in the day, people who got tossed around a bit lumped it. Not anymore.

Add to all of this the ATC around LON and the possibilities for maneuvering aircraft to less turbulent altitudes drops.

I'd hate to lose air traffic flow in return for a bit of food.
