When I used to travel rather a lot - Gold on BA and SQ, in J and F, this "welcome" lark happened to lots of slf. Many of the crew used to enjoy their job, and wanted to make the slf feel welcome. I have no memory of special welcomes for Golds.
CX do their best to make all slf welcome. BA ought to aim for this, too.
I agree with you! From Gr to DM, Ruby to Emerald, No Doubt CX crew do their best to make them happy. However some short flights such as PEK, PVG have 50++ DMs, Gos in EY are really difficult to say hello to them One by one!
