(I deliberately repeat your "competent, trained" phrase. Clearly they are trained. Questioning their competence is fair game at this stage, I suppose, but given the NNNN combined hours of safe flying that they likely have, implying that they are incompetent feels a little heavy-handed.)
Air Canada and "competent trained" that's the problem. And we got lucky this time and even luckier in Halifax.
I doubt the 3rd time AC will be so lucky. Unfortunately, I don't think AC takes these "hard landings" seriously.
