Depends on winds etc..as far as CX/MPC/Asiamiles are concerned, routings don't matter..for AA awards, probably better asked on the AA forum, though I suspect that a fair few on this board would be quite happy if AA disallowed them!

The great circle route goes almost directly over the North Pole- quite far from the 'Pacific'.
