My comment was written from the perspective of a tourist. It's obvious the rave reviews are from business guests, since the location is business friendly but offers little to tourists, as even you acknowledge.

Barra is a very nice area (I stayed there last time), but from what I understand this hotel is in a part of Barra with little to do within walking distance.

So I stand by my comment, with one clarification: terrible location in the middle of nowhere - for tourists.
