You may not have been upgraded if there's another animal already in first, but it's pretty rare IME.
On a recent flight, GA comes on and asks the F FA, "I have a couple in 1A and 1C, each with an emotional support animal. Are they OK for the bulkhead?" FA says, "No problem - they're service animals so it's OK." Couple then boarded with their ESAs. The ESAs sat on the floor at the bulkhead. So the FA was wrong on two counts?
