Hey everyone,

I'm new to flyertalk, but have done a decent bit of flying (atleast for a 25yr old) I'm currently looking at flights to tokyo because I will be studying there in october. I've found a VERY good deal but its with an airline I've never used before (Phillipine Airlines). Their luggage policy is pretty confusing and seems to imply that I need to pay for excess luggage for every leg of the trip. (Like i said its a super cheap flight so theres 2 layovers ;n Basically this will determine if I bring my bicycle with me while I live in japan or if I try and buy a new one while I'm there, which I'd rather not do because I'm 6' 5" (196cm) and would really rather not go through the hassle of trying to find an affordable big bike.

Truth be told I'd prefer to fly with an airline I've heard of(and that's star alliance cuz' im working on racking up points with united) but this phillipine airline ticket is under 500$ and feels like it's too good to pass up. I'd love to hear opinions and experiences to help me make a more informed decision.
