The wind that sometimes accompanies the rain can also make for pretty rough surface conditions, which isn't great for snorkeling. We ended up giving up one day because, even with really good snorkels, we kept inhaling water.
We bring our own masks/snorkels for this reason. They mainly have open top snorkels so we prefer our closed snorkels. We do however utilize their fins as they have the same Cressi fins we use. It doesn't take up much room for just the snorkel/mask so I recommend bringing your own if you are not used to open top snorkels.
