We have just reached the SPG Gold status by spending 30k on the Amex SPG personal card. We were told that Marriott would match the status but when we called to ask about it, Marriott said they are no longer matching status through credit card spend only stays.
Has anyone had this issue? Is it a glitch? Should we stay on them, maybe we got an uninformed CS Rep.
