Hotel asks for credit card information via email
I booked a stay a week ago for Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit. I received a confirmation email back then stating "the stay is confirmed and paid for". Today I received another email from the Sofitel asking me (in broken English) to send them my credit card information via email as due to a technical error the website failed to deliver it to them.
I don't know what to do as my credit card terms and conditions clearly forbid sending credit card details by email. I want to secure the rate I booked.
I really am not happy with the situation as it is handled very badly by the hotel that has a good reputation on the market.
