I don't know how these accounts appeared on my profile and that is what is making this even more baffling for me. I'm not suggesting anything as I have no idea how this happened. For all I know, someone at AMEX transposed a single digit or something similar which caused this to happen. I never heard of the two banks that the accounts were associated with so I'm not even sure if they are legitimate banks or not. I have had the same checking account at the same bank for over 30 years and that is the only account I have ever used to pay bills both at AMEX and all the other bills in my life. This is the only checking account I have ever owned.

Why not try that. Simple letter listing the dates and the payments and the fact that they were initiated without your authority or knowledge.
Thats an interesting idea. I think I might try that.

The forced closing by Amex will further impact the credit score; trying to get this resolved is very important.
That was also a concern of mine is that this forced closing by AMEX will cause my credit score to decrease, so its almost like a double whammy against me for something I had zero responsibility for causing. This is so frustrating on so many levels. (AMEX disregarding loyalty, closing account for something I didn't have anything to do with, taking my Membership Rewards points from me, causing credit score to go down, etc...)
Please everyone I would strongly suggest cashing in your Membership Rewards Points as soon as you can and not letting them accumulate too high! Don't trust that AMEX will be there for you because they have been completely awful in how they are treating me. I never did anything to be in this situation and now AMEX refuses to address the root cause of whatever caused this issue in the first place.
