You don't leave a GTE deadheading pilot or Super Elite while everyone else goes on board to take every last seat. You ask for volunteers, and if none come forward, you call a few up. To the gate. Before boarding.
Yeah for sure, I was mostly exaggerating, mostly trying to refer to giving someone a seat assignment, and then taking said assignment away. I feel like this is just a huge risk and source of problems, and an easy fix by blocking some seats and keep something like the last 5% of seats for GTE assignment.
This way you can keep an overhead for status pax, as well as potential seat banks for families that somehow got split up.
Seems to me like a super easy fix.
As for the yellow stickers, they stress me out. Having my luggage put to the side makes me feel like they can too easily get forgotten or lost, but with a priority tag I guess it may be less likely.
