Are RBC Rewards Points eligible for Aeroplan point accrual/AQD?

I've taken 5 flights now with Air Canada using RBC Rewards (fixed redemption schedule) and every time, I've given my Aeroplan number and received Aeroplan miles (which count as AQM) and AQD for the flights. I assumed this was because apparently when you use RBC points, they buy a regular ticket for you and you get booked in a fare class that's normally eligible for point accrual.

I just got back from a trip to New York and noticed that on my Altitude dashboard, under the AQD column the flights were listed as "Not Eligible" and the AQM column lists 0s, even though the flights were booked in A or Q classes. When I called Aeroplan, they told me that these were flight reward tickets so they weren't eligible.

I asked him why this was all of a sudden an issue, given that I had received miles and AQD 4 times when using RBC points and he said that the system must have missed it. Which seems pretty sketchy to me. He then mentioned that the 4 flights I had previously received miles for would likely now get revised and disqualified.

As always when dealing with Aeroplan this situation has left me frustrated, and I'm wondering if anyone else has ever had the same issue? Or if anyone else also normally receives AQM and AQD for RBC Rewards flights?
