As a Sixt Diamond they offered me absolutely no upgrade at LAX. To be fair, I reserved a higher category car and they said if I had booked a low category car I could have received an upgrade. But, the diamond GUARANTEED 1-class upgrade resulted in no upgrade whatsoever. They refused to even charge me 1-class lower like many other (non-US) stations will do.
