My litmus test has always been a Sunday night stay.

based on that:

5. Charlotte - nicknamed "The city of homes", it has little else. I lived there for 3 years

4. Scranton / Wilkes-Barre - I don't even know which one I stayed in. I was so bored I was tempted to go to church.

3. Stockton - if you're bored in Stockton, you must not smoke crack. I lived in Tracy for 2 years. It's like Stockton without the crack.

2. Greenville, SC - they'd roll up the sidewalks on Sunday, if they had them. I lived there for 2 years. You know a city is a bore when everyone tells you, "It's a great place to raise a family".

1. Augusta, Me - this is a state capital? I couldn't even find a restaurant open on a Sunday night.
