If I'm the only GTE on a flight, and every other seat is occupied by another revenue passenger, one of them is getting off, and I'm getting on.
GTE is nothing like standby. Standby is not confirmed. GTE is.

I have no idea what sticker you're talking about. GTE is printed where the seat would normally say 1D or 1K.
