[Conforming moderator edit]. The OP had reservations change the flight as permitted under the weather waiver policy in place. The company explicitly defined that process and the passenger complied with it.
Like I have said before, if a PAX has enough, even in a promising situation such as that, that's their prerogative. Just don't complain that it's somehow the airline's fault for the personal decisions you've made. Own up to your mistakes. Then you'll have credibility for placing any extra blame on the airline.
No prize? Well in this case there was, but clearly it wasn't viewed as such.
If you think calling them stunts is ridiculous, fine. Doesn't make it any less correct.
