I toyed with the idea of using DL Skymiles for a last minute trip to AUS and NZ this past week.... While there was award availability from SEA (surprisingly), DL wanted something like 250k miles for my itinerary (SEA-SYD, SYD-AKL, AKL-SEA). UA only wanted 150k for the entire journey in J on UA/NZ/NH.

I understand DL wants to price itself as a premium product, but now we have to ask ourselves, is the premium really worth it?
