Actually, the Beleariacs are trying to shift away from this cheap alcohol-fuelled tourism (http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/...-a7797751.html), so the question of sales on board could be part of that strategy.

I am not sure they will ever get a ban on sales at origin airports (nor should they), but there is a conversation to be had about responsible consumption at origin - Stansted, Luton and the other airports in the spotlight should lead the charge, along with the most impacted airlines. There are simply too many cases of antisocial behaviour on board now.

For what it is worth, I do not think those with access to the lounges are causing the problem here.
