try it and see what happens. You always have 24 hours to cancel without penalty - you'll get all miles/feees back. Note that within *A, the carrier has 24 hours to confirm the availability, so typically they don't ticket right away, and may not at all. Unfortunately the way he system works. Also, award availability is dynamic, and in order for searches to work, data is cached and updated in some interval so isn't always real-time. It's possible the agents system is more up to date than the web.

planning based on 'assumed' availability, not to mention from two months ago, is a bad idea. Really bad. Inventory is dynamic and changes within minutes, not to mention within hours, days, weeks and months. Once something is available, your best to just book and use the next 24 hours to figure out details. My assumption is always if I am not ready to book immediately, especially with award space, then I wont be able to book it at all. If the date is not open to book yet, I assume nothing until it is. Everyone has their own way of course - up to you - but this is my strategy for avoiding disappointment.
