Will the OP be seated close to the front of the aircraft for quick deplaning, to beat the crowd?
At DTW if you do TSA security after exiting customs, you enter the airside terminal close to the center (and the big SC). However, if you see long lines, it can make sense to follow the exit signs and then go up to departures level to do TSA security. Since you cannot see those lines before committing it's risky but worth a try.
