Yes, Cactus is America West's callsign.
A few other major interesting ones are:
AirTran - "Citrus"'
Valujet (now defunct/became AirTran?) - "Critter"
Atlantic Coast - "Blue Ridge"
National (now defunct) - "Red Rock"
and both Song and Ted keep their parent carrier's callsign of Delta and United respectively. I believe Song flights are DL2xxx and Ted are UA14xx and UA15xx.
