I have never checked in my suitcase at Canadian airport before besides this time my final destination is NRT not the US airport...
Yes, AS will check the bag all the way through for you by default. As you go through preclearance at YVR, the immigration agent will just pull up an image of your bag on a conveyor belt and ask you to confirm it's yours.
