I usually pay with my own money for car rentals.
I always check the Hertz AAA discount first. Often this is the best rate - except in major business centers. The United Premier rate cannot compare with the AAA discount, and the bonus miles are not worth the cost. If Hertz is still high, I go with Alamo.
