Hi,
We're having our family trip to the Maldives in august and will be doing DKR-DXB
then DXB-MLE.
We are going to be traveling with our 2 y.o and the DKR-DXB is 9h inbound and almost 13h for the outbound trip!!
I flew economy once for this trip and I promise myself never again. So I've been flying J or F ever since and now I have 165,000 miles that I want to use to upgrade part of our trip.
Upgrading from Y (flex plus) to J for the DKR-DXB is 36,000 miles which would be 216,000 miles for the return flights for the 3 of us. We don't need to upgrade for the MLE flight since it's only 4hours.
Now as you can see, I need an extra 51,000 miles asap, what are the solutions given that:
- My husband has an Air France KLM Amex with tons of flying blue miles and I was trying to see if it's possible to convert it to skywards but it looks like flying blue miles don't convert to anything
- I don't have enough starpoints to convert to skywards anymore
- My dad has 300K+++ skywards and is willing to transfer those extra miles to my account but the limit is 25,000 and it would cost $$$
Any idea ?
And do we really need to use so many miles to upgrade a 2 y.o ticket ?
Thank you for your contribution
