I had the US Airways card, which was automatically converted to a Red Card for a few weeks before being converted at my request to a Silver Card. Today I have neither card.

I am interested in applying for the Red Card to get the 50k bonus.

I called to apply by phone and was told that since I already had the Red Card (they looked it up) I would not get the bonus. This call was placed before I came across this thread.

I read the posts in the Wiki stating that converted US Airways to Red Card holders should get the bonus.

Any recent data points on this? Any insights as to whether my call could flag and prevent receiving the bonus? I'd hate to pay the $95 fee and not get the bonus.
