Even the airline and airport don't know at the start of a day which flights will leave from which gates - there's a plan, but it doesn't mean they'll follow it! There's a significant amount of 'rolling', where a delay to one flight will be solved by 'stealing' an aircraft from another service due to depart slightly later, which in turn will be fed by stealing from another. And so on until you either fix the first one or run out of planes to play with. Then you cancel (or nightstop) something. But no one knows which services this will happen to...

Also, to correct a misconception, most domestic arrivals are to A1-7. Domestic departures are spread around A gates (anywhere that can handle photo/biometrics). It is common for aircraft to turn from a domestic to a European (and vice versa), and they don't need to be towed to allow this.
