OP, sorry if I missed this, but why can't you just book separate domestic awards on your chosen dates? Is there no availability at all?
Since you are transferring miles from SPG anyway, you could transfer to BAEC and redeem JAL domestic economy for 4500 or 7500 avios one-way. Much cheaper than a cash fare, assuming there is award availability.
