So generally we're talking about 2-3 domestic legs, no more. I mentioned $300 just as a "somewhat around" sum based on the price check for Sept-Oct I did. I could see class J widely available on longer domestic legs for $150-200 per segment (starting from $100, but those are very very very limited dates/flights). If we end up paying $400-500 per person it's still fine.

Yokoso/Visit Japan Fare besides being available only in economy has also blackout period from December 23, 2017 to January 03, 2018 (which is more than half of our time in Japan, we're arriving 21/12 and leaving 09/01).

Thank you very much! It's very helpful. So the worst in terms of fares time for flying from Tokyo or Kansai region to OKA is 26/12 to 03/01? Then we can put Okinawa in the end or our trip, good I didn't make prepaid hotel reservations.

Anyways we have to wait until they finally release those poor flights for sale to be able to build up the entire plan.
Unlike Yokosuka and W2J, Japan Explorer Pass does not have blackout dates.

Just avoid flying back to Tokyo between 1/1 and 1/3
