Note that the cheap BR fares do not show on third party searches. You have to go to the eva website to see them. Usually they are competitive with KE (and they are as good as KE). TPE is also easy to transit (actually, even a bit easier than ICN).

The KE seats are lie flat, but on some equipment they are not direct aisle access. IMO, that makes them a bit inferior as you have a bit less privacy (along with the possible access issue if not in the middle column).

Of course, I am somewhat surprised you are looking at SkyTeam carriers, when that is the only alliance you do not have status with.
