I'm quite aware that authorized users do not have full memberships; I actually stated that explicitly when I said:

However, one of the benefits that has historically differentiated full membership from simple credit card access is the privilege of accessing the club when flying another airline (which my wife might occasionally need to do). Historically mere credit card access has required one to also present a same day boarding pass for an AA flight (metal or marketed).

As mentioned though, there seems to be some anecdotal evidence that authorized users of this particular card have been able to access the AC even when flying another airline. The T&Cs are reasonably clear about AS BR and other lounges, but less clear regarding accessing AC when on different airline.

So, that is what I'm trying to confirm. It seems I'm not the only one that has this question; it's been asked more than once in this thread and never really clearly or definitively answered. I'd be happy to update the wiki if we can obtain more definitive clarity on this particularly aspect but right now I simply don't know the answer.
