Well, I live in Brazil and the only issues with that are it's not possible to book flights or upgrades with avios using the BA site (has to be done over the phone). Also, all BA flights departing Brazil are quoted and sold in USD currency. Otherwise, I don't perceive (personally) any advantages or disadvantages of being a BAEC customer based in this region.
We pay in US$ as well although at least there's no longer any 30% Kirchner tax to pay on foreign credit card spend. Some Avios spending functions don't work for me either. I could move it back to the UK but have no reason to....no Tesco here.
