The IC is decent enough, but it's near a big mall in the suburbs. Taxi or Ubers will quickly deplete your wallet.

There is a gold and jade museum, national theater and such in the downtown area that are interesting. Might be good for a 2 night stay.

As mentioned, the Aurola is in a questionable neighborhood. Pretty rough at night. I drove by it last month in the early evening and I wouldn't jump at staying there.

For a near downtown hotel, I'd probably pick the Crowne Plaza. It's a decent hotel in a safe area.
