You don't have hundreds of people being abandoned around the world ... there's some slower service going on and some lower crewing rates ... and some occasional cancellations.
It's not like the schedule is being ripped to shreds - if it was - we'd be seeing it here with lots of posts.
There's been maybe 4-5 'LHR-XXX cancelled' type message (one to Miami and one to Madrid jumps to mind). In a two week strike period - that's astounding.
We're certainly not at 'IT debacle' level ... or even 'make it onto newspaper page 7' level.
The schedule wasn't ripped to shreds, it was "adapted". Many flights have been cancelled. Many passengers, myself included, feel insecure about booking. I for one am not currently booking any BA metal flights, not that BA will care.
Seats are being changed willy nilly as equipment is continuously shuffled around. The IT systems seem to reset all seat assignments every time this happens.
All individually small factors perhaps, but together very tiresome and inconvenient.
The fact that BA thinks it's OK to send flights out with less than sufficient crew to provide the service they have charged for. Goodness knows what would happen if an emergency evacuation were required in these circumstances. Yes, it might be legal but it is less than the crew are used to and have practiced with. Are we sure risks are not being taken here?
