You can't spend money that a bank mistakenly deposits to your account. I don't see that this is much different. Frustrating I'm sure but I'd recommend not dwelling on what you've lost.

Pop for the trip on your own, have a good time, and earn a few miles to replace the ones that evaporated from your account. ^
