I believe UK labour laws actually forbid not just other cabin crew fleets but even non-unionised MF crew from striking in solidarity with their colleagues. Hence BA's attempts to conquer by division. Not a fan of this attitude as it prevents either side from saving face and IMHO can only prolong any action.
Indeed, to an outsider it seems BA attitude to negotiations are quite confrontational and divisive, particularly with the cost of leasing planes and paying bonuses to working staff.

However that does not mean it's i) illegal or ii) constructive dismissal.
