That was last week so we'll see how long it takes.
According to the HMPS website my new passport was dispatched on the 30th June but still no sign of it. Unfortunately they didn't supply me with a courier tracking number which I thought they would. Customs here are very quick at impounding packages from abroad and without a tracking number it's impossible to have its release expedited.
No panic yet as I imagined the slick service would grind to a halt once it arrived in Argentina.
