Superd1-

I really do hope that you continue to fly with Alaska - it's my livelihood at stake if you and many more like yourself decide to go elsewhere.

I imagine, that if your Horizon experience was one isolated experience you might not feel so badly about getting two $75 vouchers. And maybe you would, I really shouldn't speak for someone I don't even know.

I can assure you that, at least at my level, management has not passed down any directives that we lessen our service to the customers. I'm a Flight Attendant though, and I don't deal with the customers at the levels which you seem to be experiencing most of your problems. I will say this, not only am I an employee but I have been keenly interested in this industry since I was 5 years old (not saying how many years that has been exactly...) and I have seen alot of changes over the last few years that I thought I would never see. From the inside, I see my company really trying to make changes that will save them money that won't be very visible to our customers. Some of the changes even benefit our customers, such as some of the online technology they have added. Alaska still offers a superior product in most of the markets that we serve. We haven't made cuts to the extent that most airlines have. If you want to see some unhappy flyers, check out the Delta and Continental boards. Those people are mad. The days of "Gold Coast Service" seem to be gone. Hopefully, as time goes on, we will maintain our competitive advantage and still offer a product that is visibly better. After working for two airlines, I can honestly say that Alaska, the company, really does place customer satisfaction at the top of the list. The changes that you see and downgrades in service on board the aircraft are not made without much thought and a little sadness. Most of our people remember the "good old days" and still long for them as you do.
