There's no "early qualification" for P25K status, so you'd only receive benefits next year.

However, there is early qualification for E35K status (assuming you qualify before ~Oct.).

The Altitude bonus miles benefit is based on the calendar (an odd exception to the usual status year), so if you choose the 35% bonus miles upon qualifying for E35K status (let's say in a month), you'll (retroactively) receive a 35% bonus for all flights taken in 2017.
Huh? Is this true? I qualified early for E35 in April. I selected the 35% bonus. Have received the bonus only for flights since qualification date. If I'm entitled to receive it for all flights in 2017, I'd better get on the phone to Aeroplan.

Now E50. Haven't received any altitude bonuses at all since qualifying last month. If I'm entitle to 50% bonuses for all flights this year, that will add up.
