I live in SEA area and hometown/ family is in MSN, so I make the trip a few times a year. A direct mainline SEA-MKE would be a worthy alternative to SEA-MSP-MSN or SEA-DTW-MSN, except the timing of the SEA-MKE direct is bad if you have to add 90 minutes of ground travel on either end . . . SEA-MKE arrives MKE at 10:59 PM, and MKE-SEA departs MKE at 7:55 AM. Would be much more palatable to have a mid-day arrival and departure. Wonder why they set it up this way, with the bird overnighting in MKE. Probably optimizing connections to/ from transpacific flights?
