Why do you think they would not do so for separate tickets ? Policy varies across airlines, some will, some won't, I simply have no idea about TG because I've never had to ask them.
I looked it up on EF and WK does not have an interline agreement with TG. They have about four agreements, basically with some LH-group members. There is zero chance that TG would be able to tag the bags to the final destination on an airline with whom they have no interline agreement and which is on a separate ticket. This is not how things work.
OP has the bigger problem of potentially losing his entire WK itinerary if the TG flight is late or delayed.
