Flew Delta One this Sat (1-Jul-17) on DL33 (LHR>ATL). Hopefully the menu pics come through so I don't have to regurgitate everything
They didn't do FEBO, or maybe they did and I didn't notice. They did Medallions first so since I was a PM in row 1, my order was taken first, then she went to the other medallions and then I lost track. Delivery service was front to back. Service was perfect for J class.
Review:
The Charles Heidseick was so much more delicious than the PDB sparkling and I saw her pour it, which was important because I pretend I'm a sparkling connoisseur. Seriously though, this stuff is way better than most TATL J class sparkling and I loved it. The nuts were nicely warmed but the serving a bit sparse. The Alessi glass is weighted at the bottom so much as to not tip.
The Thai Coconut Soup was exquisite, really well done. Bright curry flavor but not too creamy or heavy. The salad was quite good too. The Asian Beef app was flavorful but a bit tough, even for being relatively rare done.
The Grilled Beef entree had great flavor but again was tougher than I would have liked. It was exactly the opposite of VS which had meat too fat. I think they didn't reheat it fully as the thyme butter patty and the cheesy sauce for the veggies were both not fully melted, though they were definitely warm enough. The celery hash was my favorite part of this course, great flavor and texture to it and quite unique.
I had the sundae with strawberry for desert though I do think the cheese course should always follow the sweet anyway, but I was so full it didn't matter. The Noval Tawny Port was heavenly. HEAVENLY!
I didn't take a picture of the mid-flight cookie but it was warm and gooey. Of course that meant delicious.
I don't eat fish so I picked the Udon noodles for my pre-arrival meal. There is some fire in that entree! I like spicy food and so I loved it but I could see someone with a tamer appetite not enjoying it. For me it was quite good.
They had parmesan crisps and hand cooked kettle crisps, both English brands, in the SkyBreak basket and I enjoyed them both. I also tried a glass of the Chateau du Puget Rose and it was good, but I preferred the sparkling by a long shot and switched back after half a glass.
I think I drank an entire bottle of the bubbly, but it's a pretty long flight and we had a decent headwind that slowed us down too.
