The problem with you and your friends is that issues that are important to people like myself, and others who have expressed concern that Chris' tenure on this board could be short lived with these types of antics is of no concern to you.

You previously have pooh poohed Flyerwife's concern about this very issue in the earlier thread that RTHIB had started about suite upgrades. But, because it is not an issue near and dear to you or one that you believe is meritorious, you have demonstrated by your actions that it neither merits your interest nor concern.

I find it quite sad, and obviously hypocritical, when one attempts to, and, indeed does, wrap themselves in a self-asserted aura of "civility," while at the very same time, running roughshod over the interests and concerns of others.

Although I may be somewhat blunt in my assessment and treatment of RTHIB's latest failed attempt to keep the flame alive concerning his disenchantment and vendetta against Marriott because of its lack of suite upgrades, make no mistake about it, his was a provocative action and an insult to all those who feel differently than the way he and CPRich and you obviously do about this matter, especially so soon after his initiating his earlier complaint thread. His self-serving "competition" between SPG and Marriott, so soon after his earlier thread which had generated such heat was nothing more than a juvenile attempt to again stir the pot for his own ends; it was nothing more than another attempt to stick it in the eye of both Marriott and the individuals who hold a contrary view on this issue, and it was little more than a second attempt to air his pet peeve in a somewhat different way.

If you contend that by my calling his latest attempt at self-gratification "juvenile" makes this a less civil forum, then I think that you should reexamine the motivations of one who again wishes to disturb the peace and quiet of this forum concerning that matter, especially so soon after Chris provided his pronouncement on that issue.

Indeed, let us revisit a portion of that thread in question as it is quite illuminating on this issue and the not so secret agenda of some of those on this board. After Chris made his pronouncement that suite upgrades are not to be considered as a part of the benefits to be provided to Platinums, the following exchanges occurred:

When did they stop upgrading to Suites? Last December I was upgraded in Kauai to a 2 Room Corner Suite, with living room and dining room and sepderate bedroom? (on MR also).

TufBear is not only quite humorous with his postings, he is spot on to the point of being clairvoyant, for not only did he anticipate RTHIB's next attempt to again raise this issue, but as you will see, immediately following his statement, RTHIB, responded with the following:

It is part of 2004 Elite Guide.
Some Hotels still Upgrade to Suite, it is just not Policy.

So Policy is:
Platinum Gets you 5% Bonus and carton of Ice Cream.

But I forget, for you choose not to see that RTHIB's unhappiness with Chris' answer had no bearing whatsoever and is not in the slightest way connected to his starting this little competition of his between SPG and Marriott.

Certainly, his starting the above noted thread whose link immediately precedes this sentence, less than 24 hours after he expressed his pleasure with Marriott's decision as communicated by Chris is but a mere coincidence, as well, I suppose?

Of course, his provacative actions are of "no interest to you," as your stance amply demonstrates the obvious bias that you hold on this and many other issues, among them appropriate respect for your other colleagues who inhabit this board.

You may choose to take RTHIB at his word when he states that all he meant in starting that thread was nothing more than a "scientific" poll in order to merely shed some light on the issue of suite upgrades as between SPG and Marriott, but I do not believe that others are so naive or blinded by their own petty concerns to not see what the true motivation behind such a post was.

If you still have any doubts about the novelty of such a poll or its overall usefulness, why don't you simply re-read MIKEM's post on this question -- and who has no dog in this fight -- that I have reproduced above.

However, I doubt that you ever will, as your choice pronouncement that I have referenced above, is all too emblematic of your views and actions, and it is obvious to all but the most craven that all those who hold a contrary view from yours should have no say, or even have a right to express such a say, as you and your cohorts hold all truth on this and any other matter that may possibly affect this forum. Right.
