Sounds you got lucky -- the agent managed to pushed thru what they though was a "funny acting" system but was policy.

Reports seem to be pretty clear Golds and Silvers are RN inventory (and the instant upgrade flag was not showing for you which is further confirmation) -- but sometimes the complexity / confusion can work in your favor.
